Welcome to Durango Whoodles.

Whoodles are a cross between a Poodle and a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, in our case a Standard Poodle. This breed of dogs are good-natured, happy and cheerful. They are highly intelligent, very trainable, and very much want to please their
owners for sure! They LOVE their families and are very loving with children.

We breed Lucy, our Wheaton and Diggory, our Standard Poodle, once a year. We usually get 5 pups and they stay indoors and livewith the family the whole time, unless they are outside with Lucy exploring the garden- smelling the herbs and vegetables and rolling in the Lavender bush ( a habit that Lucy has)!

Our puppies are raised with children, and are played with daily. They are very well socialized.

We live high up in the Rocky Mountains amongst the deer and elk and woods and our animals get to hike and play in open fields and deep in the woods daily.

Lucy LOVES to swim in our lake and all our dogs have thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of playing in the snow! We adore our dogs and our pups are happy, healthy great dogs whose owners still keep in touch to tell us stories of their lives! Perfect!

At this time Lucy has just been bred. We will see if she is pregnant soon. If so, she will have puppies around June 8th 2011. Those pups will be able to go to their new homes around the end of July.

Please visit our website to see photos of our four legged family.

Have a happy day!!!!

  1. Hi! We are going to call you shortly... we are not able to bring a whoodle home this year, but next year we a definitely welcoming a puppy into our home! I assume you are a new breeder because I check the website frequently and this is the first time I have noticed you! This is GREAT that you breed standards because the minis are too small for my families taste!

  10. Could you let me know what the cost is of one of your puppies? I have always been interested in a labordoodle, but saw a whoodle today and fell in love with the dog. They seem to be slightly smaller than a lab mix. My e-mail is imabaatz@yahoo.com.

  16. Hi Jill: Just a note to say hello and let you know how much we love our Whoodle, Stix! He could not have a better temperment or be more handsome. Stix came house trained, people trained and ready for adventure. He is so smart -at 5 months he can shake and roll over. He never really needed a leash and is great with dogs and kids. He might become a therapy doggie when he gets older... or just hang out in our yard, which he also loves. Anyways, thank you so much for Stix! We will send you some photos of his adventures soon! 18. Hi Jill. I've been meaning to check in with you for over a year now! We LOVE our whoodle. I don't remember what you named him, but we changed his name to Oakley. He was from your 2011 gang and was one of two black pups. He ended up being way bigger than we had imagined, but considering that we live in a high coyote area, it ended up being a blessing. He's not heavy, he's just tall. He got his dad's long legs! He's so darn cute and everyone loves him. He loves people, especially kids. Wherever we go, he's the talk of the town. He looks right into your eyes, no matter who you are, which makes people (even complete strangers) melt. He has such a sweet distemperment. He has hiked several 14ers, which he can't get enough of. We take him snowshoeing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. We let him run off the leash while doing both. I think we are ready to get Oakley a sister. I'll send you an email about getting on your wait list for another whoodle. We'd never buy one from anyone but you. We love that you only breed your dogs one time per year and that you do nothing to alter their appearance. I hope you're doing well. Best regards, Julia Cantarovici-Simisky (Boulder, CO)
